Prins Willem-Alexander School becomes part of International School of London

Celebrations include six part-scholarships

The Prins Willem-Alexander School in Woking, Surrey, has teamed up with one of Britain’s top International Schools to offer a superb new educational opportunity in north-west Surrey.  To mark the occasion of becoming part of the International School of London, this highly acclaimed Surrey institution, the International School of London in Surrey (ISLS),  6 Part-Scholarships will be offered to students as it expands its offering to include International Education from the academic year 2009-2010.

The Prins Willem-Alexander School in Woking has been providing Dutch speaking children with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and a Dutch Curriculum for the core subjects for 28 years.  Over the years, the school has developed into an exceptional school with a strong frame work to become “The School Of The Future” in BBC television’s Breakfast News. In 2007 and in 2008 it achieved the highest ever national test results of all school’s offering the Dutch curriculum, prompting front page attention from national newspapers. The Times Educational Supplement devoted an article to the innovative effective teaching at the school. Both in 2007 and in 2009, OFSTED (the Office for Standards in Education in the UK) classed the education provided as ‘Outstanding’.

The International School of London (ISL) in Chiswick is a highly respected, successful school and is a long-term accredited member and supported of the Council of International Schools.  ISL was the first school in London to be authorised to implement the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) in 1976 and is now authorised to offer all three IB programmes (Diploma, Middle Years and Primary Years Programmes). In September 2008, the International School of London in Qatar was established as a successful candidate of an initiative by the Qatari government to attract “Outstanding Schools” to open branch campuses in Doha

ISL Surrey’s Headteacher, Marco Damhuis says: “Teaming up with the International School of London will offer even greater diversity and opportunity to what is already a thriving and exceptional school.  We are marking this very special occasion by offering students a more realistic chance to obtain a world-class international education, and we hope that our offer of 6 Part-Scholarships will attract applications from all sections of the community.”

The Part-Scholarship will cover 50% of the school fees per child for the duration of the child’s primary education at ISL Surrey.

The parents of the successful candidates will only have to pay 50% of the school fees for the duration of their education at the ISL Surrey.

There will be two scholarships offered for each of the following Mileposts:-
